The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP was called to service 47 times for the week of Oct. 11 to Oct. 17.
False calls
Four 911 calls were received in the area, but they were all found to be false. Two cases, one in Kisbey and one in the Carlyle area, were due to faulty phone lines. The other two calls were children accidently dialing the number.
An alarm call to a residence in the Carlyle area was sounded. It was found to be secure, but the cause of the alarm is unknown.
Two other false alarms were also received. One involved a homeowner in Redvers who accidently set off the alarm and the other was at a business in Carlyle where staff had difficulties disarming the alarm.
Abandoned vehicles
An abandoned vehicle was reported near Redvers. The owner was contacted and explained that they had vehicle issues which were being resolved.
Information was given on an abandoned vehicle near Wawota.
Assault
There was a complaint of assault in the Carlyle area, which is currently under investigation.
Breach of court order
In Redvers a complainant reported a breach of court order. This matter remains under investigation.
Warrants issued
Warrants were issued for both a 16-year-old male and a 27-year-old male who were charged with failing to attend court in separate charges.
Hit and runs
Two hit and runs were reported during this time. One was in Carlyle where a white Chevy Avalanche was damaged, while the other is suspected to have occurred in Arcola where an orange Dodge Journey was damaged.
Fire
A house fire was attended in Forget where a space heater in the garage started the fire. No one was injured and the Stoughton Fire Department also attended.
Three fires in fields of stubble were reported. One was near Stoughton and the other two were near Carlyle. In all three cases there was no threat to life or property and the fires were attended by local fire departments.
Liquor related offences
In the Carlyle area an intoxicated male was attempting to start fights. The individual was lodged in cells overnight and charged with public drunkenness.
In another instance in the Carlyle area an intoxicated male was stumbling all over the road. He was located and held in cells until sober. He too was charged with being drunk in public.
A possible impaired driver was reported near Redvers, but RCMP were unable to attend because they had already been dispatched to another call.
Mischief
Five cases of mischief were opened. One was in Redvers where property was damaged and another in Moose Mountain Provincial Park, which are both still under investigation. An individual causing problems in a home was reported in the Carlyle area, but they left voluntarily. There was another instance of domestic dispute as yelling was reported in a house. Finally a vehicle was damaged in Alida and charges are pending upon investigation.
Vehicle infractions
Six speeding tickets were issued: a 25-year-old male was ticketed $214, a 22-year-old male was fined $452, a 25-year-old male was ticketed $404, a 22-year-old male was fined $130, a 26-year-old male was ticketed $436, and a 55-year-old male was fined $137.
In Arcola there was a complaint of a vehicle passing a school bus, though a photo of the offenders licence plate was taken by the witness it was illegible.
An erratic driver was reported near Carlyle. RCMP were unable to locate the vehicle. A second erratic driver was called in near Alameda. The driver was spoken with and showed no signs of intoxication. They explained that they had been driving around soft spots on a grid road.
A 33-year-old male was fined for having tint on their windows at $115.
Vehicle Collisions
A collision near Carlyle with a horse was reported. The ambulance did attend, but RCMP is unsure of the extent of injuries.
No injuries occurred during a collision in Wawota involving an 80-year-old female and a 64-year-old male.
Near Redvers a report of a single vehicle rollover with no injuries was called in. The driver had been avoiding a deer and lost control of their vehicle as they were hauling water. The shift of weight in the trailer was enough to cause the vehicle to roll.
Miscellaneous
Damage to a green Saturn in Manor is currently under investigation.
An unwanted individual was reported in a residence in the Carlyle area.
A suspicious person was reported in the Carlyle area. The subject left before members were able to attend.
Possible fraud in Wawota was reported as a young man called an elderly woman saying it was her favourite nephew. The woman said she didn't know who he was and hung up on him.
A report of theft was called in, but it was determined to be unfounded and a civil process.
A noise complaint in Redvers was attended and the owner of the house playing loud music was warned.
A report in Carlyle regarding a suspicious black plane flying around was called in.
Dogs at large were called in to RCMP. The dogs were running around Moose Mountain Provincial Park. The matter was referred to SERM.
A complaint of harassing phone calls in the Carlyle area was reported to RCMP. Investigation determined the calls were not harassing in nature.
Lost keys were reported in Carlyle. If found it is asked that you take them to the Carlyle detachment.
