Five lucky winners will be walking away with an extra $1,000 in their pocket, just in time for Christmas.

The Weyburn Review and Weyburn This Week are teaming together with 16 local businesses to bring this annual contest back to Weyburn. Past winners have been absolutely thrilled, as the Christmas cash came in handy for buying those last minute gifts or helped to replace home appliances that had broken down. One family had suffered a job loss recently, and the winnings meant that they could give their children a Christmas to remember, even though money was tight.

This year’s contest runs until December 18 and the winners will be announced December 20, live on Facebook.

Here’s how it works. Shop at any of the sponsor businesses and enter your name to win. It’s that easy! Each business will have details in-store on how you, the shopper, can receive an entry form.  There is no limit to the number of times you can enter, so be sure to visit each and every sponsor.

Each day throughout the contest, we will be featuring three sponsors on our Facebook page. Some of them will be running weekly specials. Be sure to check our page daily to stay in the loop.

“We try to find a way to keep our dollars right here in Weyburn each year,” said Andrea Corrigan, Publisher and Sales Manager of the Weyburn Review/Weyburn This Week. “We need to help our advertisers and show our readers that you can shop for everything right here in Weyburn.”

Remember – shopping local means that our family, friends and neighbours benefit from employment, and our local businesses are able to contribute to the community and to our non-profit organizations. Support your local businesses and they will support you!
