Comp students to continue five-day week

Students at the Weyburn Comprehensive School will enjoy a distraction-free 2010-11 school year.

Students at the Weyburn Comprehensive School will enjoy a distraction-free 2010-11 school year. The Southeast Cornerstone School Board made a notice of motion on June 17 to withdraw the proposed altered school year calendar and apply the regular five-day week calendar instead.

Due to the timelines of the Weyburn Comprehensive facility renewal project being pushed back, a tender for the project will not be made until January 2011 and on-site mobilization occurring around May or June. Phase one of the project will then focus on exterior renovation work.

The original motion of an altered school year would have been longer days during the first half of the school year so students and staff would be done in early June 2011.
