ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service has issued an arrest warrant following an attempted traffic stop.

The EPS says its members performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on the west side of Estevan on Highway 39 on Jan. 1 at approximately 10:30 a.m. Police were attempting to arrest the male driver.

According to the EPS, the man obstructed police and took off at a high rate of speed. Officers deployed a spike belt but the accused was able to avoid it. For public safety reasons, the EPS says it did not pursue the vehicle into the city and the vehicle was last seen heading east on Fourth Street beyond 16th Avenue.

The EPS said the accused is 32-year-old Dustin Clarke-Rusnack of Pilot Butte, who is wanted for flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and obstruction. The accused was driving a black 2014 Ford F150 with a licence plate number 282 MSC. The truck also appeared to have a rear-facing window that was smashed out but had something covering it.

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of the person or vehicle they are asked to call their local police agency..

No further details were immediately released.
