Last week, Mr. Zacharias and the GF Kells Cross Country Team went to the Division Meet in Weyburn. There were more than 300 competitors at the event with some races involving more than 40 athletes. It was a beautiful day for running and our students did very well. The first race of the day was the 3 km Midget Girls' category. Vanessa Bendtson finished 11th and had her best time of the year. In the Grade 7 Boys' category, Nathen Schmidt had a fast start and ended up finishing in 16th place. In the 2 km Grade 7 Girls' Category, Janelle Boutin had a great race and finished 7th. There were 4 GF Kells runners in the 3 km Grade 8 Boys' category. Kyle Sargent set a fast pace and finished 4th, less than 30 seconds behind 1st place. Tommy Cappo also had a good showing and placed 9th. Speedy Talen King had a super finish and placed 11th and a very determined Jory Dyck finished in 27th. In the Grade 8 Girls' category, Paige Smith showed her toughness and finished in 13th. The students raced well and were great ambassadors for the school. Way to go!
