Auditions for this year's Missoula Children's Theatre are scheduled for Oct. 24 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Mark your calendars. Missoula Children's Theatre is on its way.

Coming to Carlyle Elementary School from Oct. 24 to 28, the international children's theatre group will be making its sixth appearance in Carlyle.

Last year, 45 students from the school were part of the production. The week-long experience saw children practice their lines, finesse their acting skills and have a whole lot of fun.

This year, the production will require approximately 50 students to perform this year's selected play, 'The Tortoise Versus the Hare'.

Auditions will take place on Monday, Oct. 24 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the elementary school gym. All students with an interest in participating in the play are encouraged to attend this group audition. Roles are available for students in Kindergarten through to grade 9.

Those students wishing to audition are asked to arrive by 3:30 and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal for the production is slated to begin shortly after the group audition process.

Rehearsals are scheduled to take place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. every day. While not all cast members will be required at every session, students must be available during those times for the full week. A rehearsal schedule will be distributed following the group audition.

All of the hard work throughout the week will be on display at the school's public performance. Last year, more than 160 spectators attended the final show. The performance, to be held at the elementary school, will take place on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under and free for children 3 and under.
