Parade of Lights winners named by Chamber

The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce held its annual Parade of Lights on Tuesday, December 4th. The streets were lined with hundreds of spectators watching the over 45 festively decorated floats going by.

The streets were lined with hundreds of spectators watching the over 45 festively decorated floats going by. “All the participants and spectators truly spread Christmas cheer and community spirit along the parade route”, Twila Walkeden, Executive Director, of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce said. Although the judges had a difficult time determining a winner in each category, in the end they made their announcement. The parade awards winners in the two categories are as follows:
1. Business: Royal LePage Signature
2. Organization: Weyburn Oilwomen’s Association Inc.
The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce is extending a sincere thank you to all organizations, businesses, and community members who entered the parade. Thank you to the City Police, City of Weyburn, Don’s Plumbing and our judges for their service and coordination. A huge shout out to the downtown businesses for staying open late and offering great sales which greatly enhanced our annual Parade of Lights. The cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and the business community is a vital part of our economy, making Weyburn and area an exceptional place to live and do business.
This year’s Parade was a great event, as the community pride of our residents continuous to be a driving force celebrating Weyburn’s activities and events.
