Police arrest missing man with warrants, handle calls

During the week of July 14 to 20, the Weyburn Police Service dealt domestic disputes, intoxicated drivers and found a missing man who had outstanding warrants.

Police attended a domestic dispute between a 35-year-old female and 47-year-old male on July 14. The couple was able to work out their matters and Police left without incident.

Then on July 15, the police received a report about a residence located on the northwest portion of Weyburn being egged. Incident occurred around 2 a.m. on July 15th. Anyone with any information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Weyburn Police Service.

Police received a tip that a driver almost struck another vehicle on July 16. Police located the suspect vehicle and found the driver a 49-year-old male who was intoxicated and consequently arrested. He was charged under the Criminal Code with impaired driving and operating a vehicle while being over .08. Court is set for August.

There were two difference incidents that police investigated on July 17. First, police investigated an accident that occurred on 10th Street. A 55-year-old male driver was charged under the Traffic Safety act for failing to stop at a stop sign after he collided with a 53-year-old female driver. The accident caused the female to sustain non-life threatening injuries that required medical attention.

Also that same day, police located an 18-year-old male who was flagged on Canadian Police Identification System as a missing person. In addition, the male was found to have an outstanding warrant, and he was arrested and transported to Regina Police Service.

Then on July 18, a 30-year-old male reported his vehicle stolen. The vehicle was later located in Weyburn. The matter is still under investigation.

In the morning of July 18, an unknown individual took a Stihl gas chop saw off of the shelf at Fisk Repair. Anyone with any information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Weyburn Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

Police patrol located a 21-year-old male staggering around the mall parking lot on July 19. The male was found to be intoxicated. He had no identification, no shoes and no recollection of where he was staying in Weyburn. He was arrested and lodged in cells and released when sober.

Also on July 19, police attended a residence after a 36-year-old male got into a dispute with his 39-year-old brother. The situation was resolved when the older brother agreed to leave the residence.

Police attended a local hotel in relation to an altercation that occurred between a 22-year-old male and a male in his 30s on July 19. Consequently, the 22-year-old male was charged under the Criminal Code with breaching his probation. Investigation into the assault is ongoing.
