During the reporting period, the Weyburn Police Service attended to 96 calls for service.

*On September 30, police received a call regarding a noisy party in the 100 Block of Sixth Street, where a bunch of kids were on the street smashing beer bottles. Police attended and a 17-year-old male was charged under the noise bylaw.

*An ongoing investigation has resulted in charged being laid. Police published photos of the driver of a Razer, who had been driving recklessly in the city limits on April 22, failing to stop for police. A 21 year old male has been located and charged under the Highway Traffic Act with disobeying the signal to stop by police officer and riding a quad within city limits. He will be appearing in court later this month.

*On September 29, police received a report of mischief after a motorcycle was pushed over, causing minor damage. The incident is still under investigation.

*Police stopped a vehicle on Government Road in the early morning hours and found the driver to be displaying signs of impairment. As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old male received a 24-hour driver suspension.

*Police attended to a motor vehicle accident at the railway crossing at 16th Street and Highway 39. A subsequent investigation determined the driver of a truck became impatient with a slow moving train and backed up very quickly, striking a vehicle that was stopped behind him. There were no injuries, but the struck vehicle did sustain substantial damage. The male driver of the truck was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with unsafe backing.

*Police conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 39. As a result of the investigation located a small quantity of marijuana and magic mushrooms. The 23-year-old male was charged twice with possession and was released from custody. He will appear in court later this month.

*Police received a report of mischief after someone had damaged a freshly-poured concrete driveway. The damage is estimated to be about $4,000. The incident remains under investigation.

*On September 26, police received a complaint of a fight in progress at a local bar. When police arrived they located two males who were fighting, after breaking up the fight both males were escorted from the premises. No charges were laid.

*Police attended to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Government Road and Souris Avenue. The accident was caused when the driver of one of the vehicles anticipated the light turning green drove forward, striking one of the stopped vehicles. The driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with proceeding before safe to do so.

*On September 25, police attended to a hit and run complaint after a motor vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 39 and Highway 35. A Northwest-bound vehicle was proceeding through a green light when a semi truck hauling a flatbed trailer failed to stop for a red light, resulting in the Northwest-bound vehicle being struck by the trailer. The driver of the semi failed to stop. The incident remains under investigation.

*Police received a report of a theft and mischief after a vehicle that had been parked in the 400 block of Fifth Avenue Southeast was 'keyed' and had its license plate stolen. There are no suspects at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.

*A 23-year-old male was charged with impaired driving and driving while suspended, after police observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on Second Street Northeast. The driver was also found to have outstanding arrest warrants from Saskatoon. The individual was later released and will be appearing in Court later this month on the Criminal Code traffic charges.

*On September 24, police attended to a two vehicle motor vehicle accident on Government Road South. The accident was caused when one driver was stopped in traffic to make a left hand turn and was rear ended by another vehicle. There were no injuries.
