Regional 4-H Show in Weyburn crowns Grand, Reserve champion steers

The Interclub Beef Show saw the crowning of the Grand Champion Steer and Reserve Champion Steer on Tuesday, at the Regional 4-H Show in Weyburn.

WEYBURN – The Interclub Beef Show saw the crowning of the Grand Champion Steer and Reserve Champion Steer on Tuesday, at the Regional 4-H Show in Weyburn, at the Souris Valley Industries Show and Sale Arena.

The Grand Champion steer was shown by Rylan Fladeland of the Radville 4-H Beef Club, who had an Angus-Simmental cross.

The Reserve Champion steer was shown by Sadie Davidson of the Weyburn 4-H Beef Club, who had an Angus cross.

The judges were Joe Barnett and Aaron Birch.

From Monday’s show, the results are as follows: Cloverbud Showmanship Champion, Grady Gutzke from the Weyburn Beef 4-H Club; Junior Showmanship Champion: Brayden Fladeland from the Radville Beef 4-H Club; Intermediate Showmanship Champion: James Carlson from the Cymri Beef 4-H Club; and the Senior Showmanship Champion: Kate Webb from the Pangman-Ogema Beef 4-H Club.

The Junior Team Grooming Champion is the Radville Beef 4-H Club; the Intermediate Team Grooming Champion is the Arcola-Kisbey Beef 4-H Club; and the Senior Team Grooming Champion is the Brokenshell Beef 4-H Club.

The 4-H Inter-Club Female Show will get underway on Wednesday, July 5 at 8 a.m.

The Breeders Herd Award and the 4-H Awards will be presented at 1:30 p.m., followed by the 4-H Inter-Club Fed Calf, Sheep and Goat Sale at 2:30 p.m.
