Weyburn area driver involved in three-vehicle collision at Kisbey

The RCMP are still investigating a three-vehicle collision near Kisbey on Highway 13 on Thursday, including an SUV from the Weyburn area.

WEYBURN – Carlyle RCMP responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 13, near Kisbey, on Oct. 12, at approximately 6:40 a.m.

RCMP officers, Kisbey and Stoughton Fire Services, local EMS and STARS immediately responded. Preliminary investigation determined a SUV and a truck collided.

After the initial report, an additional call for service was received advising a third vehicle, a car, had struck the initial collision scene. The specific details of the investigation, including directions of travel, are currently being investigated by an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.

Initial investigation determined the SUV had two occupants from the Weyburn Detachment area. The driver was transported to hospital by STARS with injuries described as serious in nature. The passenger was transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The truck had three occupants. The driver, a 31-year-old male from Redvers, was declared deceased on scene by EMS. His family has been notified and Victim Services has been engaged to provide support. The two passengers were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The lone driver of the car was transported to hospital injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Carlyle RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP Collision Reconstruction and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
