The Young Fellows Club of Weyburn is collecting items for their annual auction fundraiser which will be exclusively online for the first time this year.

"The auction is a big part of our fundraising," said Jeff Hayward, co-chair of the auction committee. All the money raised goes to the various causes the Young Fellows support in the community, such as minor sports and the Triple C Centre.
Kurtis Schwindt, co-chair, said the decision was made to switch to an only online auction this year because of the changing demographics in the community and the fact that most people were going online anyways. The website, www.youngfellowsclub.ca, opens to bids on Monday, Mar. 24.
"There's always something people need or want in the auction," said Schwindt.
As of last week, the club has collected about 50 items to be auctioned and will continue to collect donated items from residents and businesses until the end of the auction, on Saturday, Apr. 12, but items donated before Monday, Mar. 24 will be included in the advertising. Schwindt said the club has between 300 and 400 items for people to bid on most years which range from retail items to services to gift cards. The items will go on display downtown at 28 Second Street in Weyburn.
Sports equipment, toys and barbecues are popular auction items annually. You can also check out the items up for bids in the Saturday, April 5 Booster.
