The Bruins have been scouring the trade market for the last 10 days and today they completed two deals.

The first one brings in some much-needed scoring help as 20-year-old right winger Roger Tagoona comes over from the Battlefords North Stars.

The Bruins also receive the rights to 1996 D Carter Folk of the Regina Pat Canadians. In return, they send 1995 G Ryland Pashovitz and 1995 F Wyatt Johnson to the Stars.

Tagoona, who is from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, is coming to his third SJHL team, having started his career in Melville. He had 40 points as a rookie with the Mils two years ago, but hasn't approached those numbers since. He has six points in nine games so far this year.

Tagoona had asked for a trade from the Stars recently. He will get a chance to put up some numbers here, as he should be starting off somewhere in the top six.

"He's a player that's tough to play against. He can be physical and gritty, which is always good when that comes along with the ability to score," said Bruins head coach and GM Keith Cassidy.

"He's a pretty motivated individual and he wants to continue his career past the junior level. He's worked hard in the off-season to get in better shape."

Folk has four points in eight games with the Pat C's this year, along with 48 penalty minutes.

Going to the Stars are a pair of promising youngsters.

Johnson is the 17-year-old who the Bruins acquired from Nipawin in the Ryan Ostertag deal last year. He's with Red Deer in the WHL and is not expected to come back.

Pashovitz is one of several goalies in the Bruins' system. He's got a 1.80 GAA and .936 save percentage through five starts with the Moose Jaw Generals. The team still has 1995 Brett Lewchuk as a future option.

The other trade completed Thursday sees the Bruins acquire 1993 LW Brendan Wilde from the Weyburn Red Wings for futures. Wilde has two goals and four points in 10 games with the Wings this year. He had 21 points in 28 games with the Sicamous Eagles of the KIJHL last season.

I don't know much about Wilde, so hard to say anything regarding potential or where he might slot in.
