The Arcola senior boys volleyball team has currently won two tournaments and is looking strong as they continue their season which will coalesce in provincial play Nov. 23 and 24.

On Nov. 23 and 24 the Arcola Senior Boys Volleyball Team will be hosting the 2A Provincial Boys Volleyball competition. This day will see approximately 170 athletes plus their families and coaches attend.

This will mean a substantial influx of people to Carlyle and Arcola as gyms in both towns will be used for the tournament. Businesses will find they will be servicing this group of volleyball enthusiasts from shopping to eating.

The committee in charge of running the tournament has recently had a meeting where they have come to the realization this weekend of volleyball action is coming faster than they had originally thought.

In the near future the committee will be contacting businesses to possibly become sponsors and help in any way they may be able to. Cash donations, mementos, and coupons would be appreciated for fulfilling provincial obligations associated with the tournament including coach and player gift bags.

Any extra funds that may be raised will be put towards the resurfacing of the Arcola School gymnasium, which is in need of an update.

Volunteers are also being looked for in both Carlyle and Arcola to assist with the upcoming provincial tournament.

For more information concerning sponsoring or volunteering for the event it is asked that you contact Mary McNair through email: mary.mcnair@cornerstonesd.ca, or to text her at 575-7220.
