The Eagles senior boys were in Yorkton over the weekend.

The Eagles beat Sheldon Williams 82-52 on Friday and then met Moose Jaw Vanier in the semi-final. Weyburn defeated them 85-80.

In the final, the Eagles lost to Estevan 64-62.

“It was a very entertaining game with numerous lead changes. The lads came away with a second place finish, but I was very happy with their play all weekend. I look forward to another week of development going into the Len Williams Memorial home tournament this weekend,” said head coach Lars Guenther.

The senior boys will host the Len Williams Memorial Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8-9. The host Eagles will play their first game on Friday at 5:45 p.m. against Humboldt.

The winner of this game will play at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday against the winner of the Arcola-Melville game on Friday evening, while the loser of the game will play the loser of the Arcola-Melville matchup.

The Comp senior girls did not play in a tournament over the weekend, only playing an alumni game, and they will be heading to a tournament in North Battleford on the Feb. 8-9 weekend.

The junior girls hosted a home tournament over the weekend.

In their first game on Friday, they beat Radville, and then defeated Fillmore on Saturday morning, which advanced them to the final against Moosomin A girls where they lost in a close game.
