CARLYLE - Four-year-old Lincoln Hohn is a huge hockey fan.

He has a twin brother Huckston. His parents are Josh and Brooke Hohn. Josh is an operations manager for Purechem Energy Services and Brooke is the administration officer for Dirty Bird Oilfield Services.

Lincoln’s grandparents are Terry and Laurie Fornwald of Carlyle, and Gord and Debbie Hohn of Swan River.

For the third winter in a row, the Hohns have built an outdoor rink in their backyard which is steadily increasing in size each year. It is now 25 by 50 feet.

Said Josh, “Lincoln became infatuated with the game of hockey just four short months ago. He is now thoroughly addicted and skates miles and miles every day.”

His favourite NHL team is the Montreal Canadiens and his favourite player is Josh Anderson. In his bedroom, he has two pictures of netminder Carey Price and also owns Habs apparel consisting of a toque, blanket and shirt.

For only being four years old, Lincoln is a good skater and will no doubt be ready for under-7 hockey next year. His dad continually works with him on the ice and coaches him through various pylon skating drills. He is a left-handed shot and is diligently working on his backwards skating.

Lincoln is in pre-school this year and loves his teacher Mrs. Eaton. He will be enrolled in kindergarten next fall. His dad was a goalie for the Carlyle Cougars a few years ago and he and Josh now attend nearly every home game.

His favourite Cougars are Brett Turgeon and Brent McLean, whom he fondly calls B.B. During the summer, he likes swimming at the Carlyle Leisure Complex and golfing with his grandpa Terry. He also likes watching his dad play ball for the Carlyle Cardinals.

Lincoln added, “When I get on a team, I want to play forward and I would really like to wear number 16. I l just love hockey.”

Added his father, “I honestly don’t know how far our son will go in hockey, but in the meantime Brooke and I are going to give him as much love and attention as we can. Who knows what’s in store for him. The sky is the limit.”
