Gymnastics Club in Yorkton

The competitive girls from the Weyburn Gymnastics Club attended a competition in Yorkton at the Springers Invitational on April 5 and 6.

The competitive girls from the Weyburn Gymnastics Club attended a competition in Yorkton at the Springers Invitational on April 5 and 6.

Competing in the nine and 10 year old provincial one category were Aurelie Bouchard, Taylor Wolter and Madison Renner. They competed against 21 gymnasts and finished 10th, 14th and 16th respectively. Rumina Edgerton and Elise Colbow competed in the 11 and 12 year old provincial one category against 17 gymnasts. Edgerton received a bronze medal on vault and finished Sixth all around, while Colbow finished Eighth all around.

In the provincial 2 level, Emily Williams, Blayke Walbaum, Payton Werewka and Cassidy Roy attended the competition in Yorkton. Emily competed in the nine and 10 year old age category against nine competitors and placed Third all around, while earning the gold medal on floor and the bronze medal on vault. Blayke and Payton competed in the 11 and 12 year old age category against 15 competitors and placed Fifth and 15th overall respectively. Blayke took away the silver medal on beam. Cassidy competed in the 13 and older age category against eight other competitors and placed Ninth all around.

McKenzie Winter and Taylor Elmy competed in the provincial 3 level. Winter competed in the 13 and 14 year old age category against three competitors and placed Second all around. Winter received silver medals on vault, bars and floor and a bronze medal on beam. Elmy competed in the 15 and older age category against four competitors and placed Third all around. Elmy received a gold medal on bars, a silver medal on floor and a bronze medal on vault.

Carley Evans competed in the provincial 4 level. Evans competed in the 13 and 14 year old age category against seven competitors and placed Sixth all around. She received a silver medal on vault.
