Depending on the outcome of two games this week, the Estevan Sherritt Coal midget A Bruins could win two championship banners, one banner or end their season empty-handed.

The Bruins will play the third and final game of the Moose Mountain Minor Hockey League final tonight in Redvers after extending the series with a 5-1 victory in the second game of the series on Wednesday.

On Saturday, the Bruins travel to La Ronge to play the second game of their two-game, total-goal provincial final against the La Ronge JRMCC Braves.

Estevan won the first game of that series 3-2 on Saturday at Spectra Place to take a one-goal lead into La Ronge.

On Saturday, Preston Benning opened the scoring for the Bruins by converting on his own rebound.
Roughly 10 minutes later, Kelly Tomiski took a feed from Benning and buried it stick side past Braves goalie Chase Heinbecker.

The Braves did get on the board before the buzzer, with Brandon Nelson capitalizing on a turnover in the slot to beat Bruins goalie Ryan McConnell with 2:52 left in the period.

After a scoreless second period, La Ronge tied it up 77 seconds into the third when Brandon Roberts fought off two Bruins and scored five-hole on McConnell.

About seven minutes into the period, it appeared the Bruins had gone ahead when they scored on a five-on-three, but it was called back on a high stick.

Jarrett Barnstable scored the eventual game-winner with 8:34 remaining on a slapper from a blueline that beat Heinbecker over the glove. Shots on goal were 50 apiece.

On Wednesday, meanwhile, the Bruins scored two goals in the second period and twice more in the third en route to a decisive win.

Cole Stevenson got the Bruins on the board 84 seconds in, but Sean Jonassen scored for the Rockets about 12 minutes later to tie the game 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Jayden Storozuk pulled the Bruins ahead at 4:13 of the second, and about 12 minutes later Stevenson made it 3-1 on a rebound in the slot.

Storozuk scored twice in the third period to complete a hat trick. At 3:28, he slipped the puck past a splayed out Redvers goalie Carter Zander.

Just over four minutes later, Storozuk beat Zander on a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle to cement the win.

In Game 1 of the series last Tuesday in Redvers, the Bruins lost 4-3 despite heavily outshooting the Rockets.

Stevenson and Redvers' Cody Real traded goals in the first period.

Stevenson scored again 63 seconds into the middle frame, only for Dakota Rose to tie it again for the Rockets only 12 seconds later.

Real gave Redvers a 3-2 lead at 11:06, but Storozuk scored less than two minutes later to knot the score again.

Real would score the eventual winner on a hat trick goal with 3:16 left in the period, followed by a scoreless third.
