Rip-roaring, crowd-cheering, close-finishing fun will take place on May 28 in Carlyle. The Bowan-Rekken Memorial Moto-X Track will once again be home to riders, fans and families filling the stands. As part of the Southeast Corner Racing Circuit (SCRC), Carlyle will be hosting two of SCRC's seven races scheduled for 2011.

With the warmth and the wind this past week in Carlyle, the track is ready to go and an impressive show of racing is sure to be seen. This year, more than 125 races are expected to compete. Racers come from throughout south eastern and central Saskatchewan, as well as south western Manitoba to compete in the 12 classes offered.

These include 50cc, 65cc, 85cc, Super Mini, Beginner (small wheel), Women's Open, Youth (14-29) Vet (+30) and Open A, Open B and Open C. An additional class, 125 Open, has been added this year as a trial run. Open to any skill level of rider aged 16 and older, the class is sure to be a hit and if entries remain high, the class will continue throughout the season and into next year.

The one-day event kicks off with practice starting at 8 a.m. The races will begin shortly after at 10 a.m. Spectators are more than welcome. The cost to attend and take in the spectacular show of dust-flying, dirt-bike riding fun is a mere $5 for those aged over 12. Those 12 and under are free, so the stands are sure to be filled with spectators.

Riders will compete for plaques and trophies, with SCRC membership racers competing for the opportunity to participate in the championships at the end of the year.

If the event happens to be rained out on Saturday, the competitors will race the following day.
