The Carlyle Novice Cougars (Chris) ended the 2019 portion of their season with a home game Dec 21 where they roared into their home barn and rolled over the Redvers Rockets 18-5.

The game was a tight defensive battle for the first half of the opening frame with both teams bending but not breaking. Then suddenly while tied 1-1 the floodgates opened and the offensive fire power the Cougars are known for exploded in amazing fashion. Several goals from the Fab 4 (Light, Eaton, Puskas, Faber) and 2 beauties from Brody "Crash the Crease" Knelson led the way while everyone contributed  to a great team win.

Like moths to a flame the boys jumped on loose puck after loose puck tilting the ice in their favour. Crisp passing, precision shooting, timely saves, selfless shot blocking and a real team first mentality were on the menu and these boys were hungry.

The fellas left it all out on the ice and can go into the Christmas break on a high after a near perfect outing. They may all play with different numbers on their backs, but to this reporter they are all number 1.

These guys are worth the price of admission and we will see you at the rink in 2020.
