ASSINIBOIA - The Assiniboia Curling Rink is now officially in the home stretch for this curling season.

The rink will close on Monday, March 21.

They would like to thank again our many sponsors, volunteers, and spectators again for making the 2022 Viterra Scotties extremely successful.

Without such support, it makes this huge undertaking impossible so very much appreciated.

The Assiniboia Curling Club Board has rescinded the double vaccination policy as per government regulations. They will maintain masking on the warm side of the glass unless they are drinking or eating at least until end of February.

The curling leagues are in their “wind down” stage and playoffs.  It’s been a very successful regular season despite the COVID issues we have faced.

There are three spiels scheduled, pending sufficient interest.

First, the Master’s Cash (60 years and over) will be held on Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26.

The ladies annual bonspiel will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 11 and 12. The theme for this year is “Biker Babes”.

The men’s annual bonspiel will be conducted on Friday to Sunday, March 18 to 20.

For all three, residents who want more information on the event or to enter a team, contact the Curling Rink office at 306-642-5115 or 306-640-9655.

Now that the restrictions are greatly reduced or off, the Assiniboia Curling Club hope to end the season with lots of participation and fun.
