According to the SJHL's twitter feed, the Bruins have made their third deal of the day and it is arguably their biggest.

The newest Bruin is 19-year-old defenceman Zach MacLellan, who comes over from the Battlefords North Stars in exchange for futures.

It's been a whirlwind 36 hours for MacLellan, who was dealt to Melfort yesterday for Mitch Berg. Then, when Nathan Zimbaluk was assigned to the Stars by Regina today, they flipped him to Melfort to get MacLellan back, and now this.

MacLellan is a two-way defenceman who has a year left, so he fits well into the Bruins plans. He will likely be an invaluable resource for the likes of Austin Yano, Tyler Kauk and Jordan Greig next year.

The Coquitlam, B.C., product has a goal and 19 points in 40 games this season, his second in the SJHL. No word yet as to what the futures may be, although I would expect it to include a player or players.

So to wrap up the day (and there's still over an hour before the midnight deadline), here's what the Bruins have done: Acquired 1992 D Zach MacLellan from Stars for futures; acquired 1991 F Trevor Tracy from Spruce Grove (AJHL) for futures; traded 1993 F Dylan Schellenberg to Camrose (AJHL) to complete the Connor Milligan trade; released 1992 G Derek Tendler (happened yesterday).
