Volleyball players from south eastern Saskatchewan came together on Dec. 10 and 11 to take part in a two-day skills development clinic held at Gordon. F. Kells.

For the second year in a row, head coach of 'Brandon University Women's Volleyball Team', Lee Carter, conducted a clinic in Carlyle. The coach, who has also served as the assistant Coach for the 'Canadian National Women's B Team' for the past two consecutive summers, provided players from the area an opportunity to further develop their abilities.

The clinic was jam-packed with drills and games that focused on passing, setting, foot work, blocking and attacking skills. Offensive and defensive systems were practiced and talent was developed.

With the help of assistant Coach Sara Grona, the players were able to not only learn from a national-level coach, but from one who has recently finished her fifth year of University-level play in both Canada and the United States.

In addition, the players were able to meet and speak with 'National Women's A Team' player, Tonya Mokelki, who stopped by to speak with the players on her way back to the team's training centre in Winnipeg. Mokelki answered some of player's questions about her experience playing at the national level, in addition to the hard work and dedication it takes to achieve that level of success.
