Once described as a person "who helps to define the character of this city," former city councillor and volunteer Marlene Nedelcov passed away on Friday at the age of 71 years.

Representatives from the Weyburn Co-op make a $550 donation to the Weyburn Hospital Foundation on Jan. 30. The donation was made to help kick-off the Co-op's "Weyburn Hospital Foundation Matching Donation Program.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of January 22 to 29: During the reporting period, police dealt with 102 calls for service. Many of the calls were alcohol-related and there were also a number of thefts reported.

Alexander Sevastian, four time first prize winner in international accordion competition, will be performing in Weyburn on Monday, February 13 at the Weyburn Comprehensive Cafetorium at 7:30 p.m.

The Midget Petro Bakken Wings hosted the Regina Capitals on January 25 and were able to skate away with a 8-0 shutout win. The Wings scored often and early and led 3-0 after the first period.
