Weyburn Review

Longtime golfer and volunteer Marie Grohn was named to the 2023 Perry Folk Fellowship Award, and was presented with the honour by Kevin Folk.

A bike rodeo was held in Jubilee Park on July 3, put on jointly by the Weyburn Police Service and the Weyburn Public Library, with 14 stations set up on the loop around the park, manned by volunteers. The stations covered the various rules and techniques for bike-riding, and included a helmet check and mechanics check of each bicycle.

The five-member Truco Trick Riders, comprised of girls from the southeast area, will be giving their first performance in Weyburn as a part of the Weyburn Fair.

A full slate of activities and attractions will be available for the 115th edition of the Weyburn Fair Days, to run from Thursday, July 4 to Saturday, July 6.

The champions were crowned at the Weyburn Agricultural Society’s Interclub 4-H Fed Calf Show in the Souris Valley Industries Show and Sale Arena.

City police responded to a hit-and-run collision on the west side of the city on June 27 involving two semi trucks, both suffering significant damage.

The skies over the Weyburn exhibition grounds were lit up with colourful bursts of light as the City of Weyburn held their Canada Day fireworks show late on Monday evening. The show came after thunderstorms rolled through the Weyburn area, including one which carried a warning of possible tornadoes (none were reported officially), wrapping up a busy day of celebrating Canada's birthday.

Canada Day was celebrated at Nickle Lake Regional Park with several activities, including a bike parade around the park, an open-air market, a show-and-shine and crafts. There will be live music in the evening to close out the day.
