Saskatchewan continues to be the fastest growing province in Canada as the population grew by 1.53 percent in the past year. Saskatchewan's growth rate is slightly ahead of BC's rate of 1.5 percent.

January is a very busy month at the Weyburn Public Library. They are hosting three different book clubs, "High Fidelity," "Water for Elephants" and "A Fire Upon the Deep." Copies of each book have been set aside and registration is required.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced the signing of a new linebacker. Non-import linebacker Mike McCullough was signed to a new contract on December 22. Financial details of the signing were not released.

Saskatchewan's resurgent oil and gas industry is ending 2010 on a high with the best December sale ever of Crown petroleum and natural gas rights. December's sale brought in $56.

Winners of the 2010 YouthBiz E-Show were announced, recently. A total of $2,150 in prize money was awarded to students in southeast Saskatchewan for their efforts in developing unique business ideas and creating virtual tradeshow booths.

Snow removal efforts by the City of Weyburn should go more smoothly in the new year, once a vital piece of equipment is replaced.

Weyburn celebrated many milestones over the past year. Here is a look back at 2010.

It's time, once again, to start planning for the Canadian Cancer Society's biggest fundraiser. The Weyburn Relay For Life will be held at River Park on June 10 and 11, 2011 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

A local family is feeling blessed by the generosity of the community this season. They have received much support, including an anonymous $800 donation, to pay for the birth of their daughter.
