The Assiniboia Livestock Auction held its pre-sorted Charolais cross and/or exotic calf and yearling sale on October 31 with 2,828 head sold. There were seven weight categories of steer calves and yearlings sold.

Harvest has all but wrapped up for producers in the province as 99 per cent of the crop is now combined, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture for the week ending October 23.

The Paisley Teacup Studio and Market will be holding its grand opening on November 17-18. Assiniboia’s latest business is owned and operated by Janielle Simard. She opened the store and studio back in mid-September.

Luke Turner, who plays for the Assiniboia High School Rockets football team, was drafted by the Regina Rams football club on October 24 in Regina. Turner began his football career seven years ago in Grade 5 playing with the Pee Wee Rockets.

A little snow didn’t stop Halloween fun in Assiniboia on October 31. Halloween carnivals were held at the schools and businesses got into the act with staff donning costumes and handing out treats during the day.
