Arcola Skating Club is proud to announce that two of their skaters received awards at Skate Canada Saskatchewan's Annual General Meeting Banquet held April 28th in Regina.

Tianna Kennett, Jackie Hoffman, Shane Hirtle, Santanna Mills, Brett Turgeon, Luke McCrimmon, Hayley Englot, and Brayden Rowley as members of the Model United Nations (MUN) at Manor School have been working hard all year long.

The Women's Wellness Day that was held at Kenossee Inn on May 5 was a great success. With a morning of thick fog about 90 women were able to attend, many impressed with what the day brought.

During this week, the Safety Team visited towns competing in the SGI seatbelt challenge, an event held each year to encourage seatbelt use. This first visit was a traveling car seat safety clinic.

Friday, May 5, saw a snooker tournament and lunch held by the Carlyle Happy Gang. The snooker tournament was a part of the Senior Olympic Games. The Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association (SSFA) hold the games for anyone 55 and over.

"Find a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck." Will the luck a penny carries soon increase? With the end to production of pennies and the slow elimination from circulation, a penny found on the ground might soon become rare.

The May 2 meeting of the Carlyle town council proved to be exciting, as council decided to move ahead with the planned-for sewer trunk line on the south end of town, despite the fact permission for borrowing is still pending.

Main Street turned into a wave of pink May 2, as students and community business' joined in the fight to stop bullying. This marked the second annual Pink Shirt Day for Carlyle and showed proof of growth since last year's event.

Just five more sleeps! For months I've anticipated attending my first District Toastmaster's (TM) Conference and the time is almost here. If the event is even as close to being as intense as my excitement, it promises to be quite the bang-up affair.
