A series of concerns and questions regarding LGBTQ topics came under the spotlight during the December 18 board meeting of the South East Cornerstone Public School Division.

Edgar Allen Poe wrote in The Purloined Letter: “The best place to hide is in plain sight.” Sadly, Saskatchewan’s municipal governments appear to be taking that to heart – and the province might just let them get away with it.

I admit that there are some weeks when I struggle to find something to share with my readers. Because I am picky, I want that “something” to convey a specific message without coming across as “preachy” or high-minded.

• Another year is over and Carlyle Detachment is hoping everyone has a productive New Year and productive and successful decade. • My spouse just reminded me that just over 20 years ago Y2K was a major concern.

I clearly recall the hubbub around the end of 1999 and the beginning of 2000.

The Carlyle Novice Cougars (Chris) ended the 2019 portion of their season with a home game Dec 21 where they roared into their home barn and rolled over the Redvers Rockets 18-5.

Winners for the 2019 YouthBiz competition have been announced! $2,200 in prize money was awarded to students in southeast Saskatchewan for their efforts in describing their business ideas and developing business plans.
