One of the best parts of the Artist Colony Retreat is the opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone and try new mediums and techniques.

Started in 2003 by Mary Milligan and Dora McKinnon, the Arcola Craft & Trade Show has been under the management of Gwen Taylor since 2010. It will host 75 vendors for the adults, but this year they have added something special for the kids.

Hi! I’m writing in from Carnduff down in the southeast corner. Unfortunately, we don’t get your paper all the way down here in the middle of nowhere, but I always pick one up when I’m in Redvers, Oxbow, or Carlyle.

• We again lucked out and 911 was not called by mistake. We did, however, have 3 false alarms. As you can imagine we don’t rush to alarms.

The high school is doing the community birthday calendar again this year. They are $20.00 / calendar. The funds from this endeavor will be used the fund “out of classroom” learning for the students.

I don’t know about you, but my decades-old habit of following local, national and international news is quickly vanishing.

Tracy Arnold has always loved hockey. And thanks to her discovery of sledge hockey a few years ago, she is able to play the sport once again. Now she’s taking her sledge hockey skills to a top level of the sport.
