As the province continues with its Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan, the City of Estevan is carefully considering the re-opening of its public facilities.

There is one new case of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, the Ministry of Health reported Monday afternoon. That case is in the Regina area. The provincial total remains at 646 reported cases.

A partnership between St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation and McDonald’s Estevan has been announced.

The RCMP in Saskatchewan handled dozens of calls related to COVID-19 in recent days, but didn't have to lay any charges. From May 22-28, there were 62 calls for service related to COVID-19.

The Government of Saskatchewan, with the Saskatchewan Mining Association, has proclaimed May 31 to June 6 as Saskatchewan Mining Week.

The Estevan Police Service (EPS) has announced that the popular birthday drive-by initiative with other local emergency services will be ending June 7.

The Estevan area was very generous with its support for the virtual Walk to End Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Seventeen participants made up a total of three teams, and raised $6166.46. Event co-ordinator Kasey McIntyre noted the total is still growing.

The first severe thunderstorm watch of the year for Estevan has been lifted. Environment Canada issued the watch at 5:25 p.m. Sunday for Estevan and other communities in the south. The watch ended at 12:23 a.m. Monday.

A former Estevan resident recently discovered an old message in a bottle in Assiniboia. Remington Walker was busy renovating the building, which is more than 100-years-old, when he discovered a bottle after removing a heat register on Friday.
