Anyone looking for a different flavour of art will have the opportunity to partake in the manga club at the Estevan Public Library starting Oct. 26.

The 38 th annual edition of Estevan United Way telethon took on a personal and even more meaningful texture for Doug McDavid, president and co-ordinator of the successful 33-hour televised campaign that ended in success late Saturday afternoon.

When the trustees of the South East Cornerstone Public School Division met on Oct. 16, they heard a trio of presentations regarding transitions and interventions within the system that were in place to assist students in non-traditional settings.

T he Estevan Comprehensive School boys soccer team hosted regionals on the weekend, and while they didn't win it all, they did enough to secure a berth at provincials.

It’s well beyond tinkering. These guys (and a few gals) are serious about their craft. It’s a hobby, but it involves some serious stuff, mostly because they really care about what they do and how they do it. They’re authentic.

Bruins blown out twice

The Westview School’s Student Support Team work was one of three transitional educational projects that were placed in the spotlight during the South East Cornerstone Public School Division’s monthly meeting on Oct. 16.

Every coach and every player knew how important the two games were. Two losses against the last-place Weyburn Red Wings, and the CanElson Drilling Estevan Bruins would fall to 2-7 on the season and dig a hole almost impossible to get out of.

Estevan native Brant Harris has found his new team. The 24-year-old right winger signed with the East Coast Hockey League's Florida Everblades recently. The Everblades are located in Estero, Fla.
