Bruins make over $70,000 from fundraiser

The Editor: With respect to May being MS Awareness Month, I would like to thank whomever made the decision to designate more handicap parking spots on Fourth Street. These spots are a great help to all disabled people.

Estevan Comprehensive School will send 10 athletes to the provincial track and field championships this weekend in Saskatoon.

Dear diary, this week I'm selecting one theme for this column and sticking to it right to the end. My only topic this week is basic financial planning. Oh, I see I've lost you already.

Young golfers from across southeast and east central Saskatchewan converged on the Estevan Woodlawn Golf Club on Wednesday for the annual ECS Classic hosted by Estevan Comprehensive School. A total of 41 players participated in the event.

SJHL clubs were issued their player cards yesterday and the Estevan Bruins have already gotten seven prospects signed.

The second time proved to be a charm for Tiana Whitman at the Skills Canada competition.

While the masses were being entertained, the dollar signs were ringing up for the Estevan Bruins on Friday night. The team made well over $70,000 from its annual sportsman's dinner at Spectra Place.

The Estevan Police Service (EPS) is requesting the public's help in locating a missing person. Gordon B. Tweddle, 58, was reported missing the evening of May 24. The last time Tweddle was seen was May 8, 2012.
