The City of Estevan is marking June’s national Parks and Recreation Month by highlighting some of the recreation opportunities that exist in the community, including the playpark program.

A lengthy parade of classic vehicles could be seen heading down local highways and other roads on Saturday afternoon as part of a cruise day hosted by T&T Rods.

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) arrested one person June 12 on a couple of charges. Police attended to a disturbance at a northeast area apartment building.

The carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility at SaskPower’s Boundary Dam Power Station had another very productive month in May. The facility captured 72,236 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) last month.

The significant amount of precipitation that Estevan has received late Thursday and much of Friday, along with strong winds, has forced the Estevan Motor Speedway to call off Friday’s program.
