The Estevan Mercury is pleased to announce the winner of our Dad Jokes Father's Day contest. Gloria Pastachak's name was randomly drawn Thursday morning. She was among the hundreds of people who entered the contest.

For the fifth consecutive day, there are no new cases of COVID-19 in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, according to the daily report. There also was no recoveries in Zone 4, leaving the total number of active cases at six.

A group of protestors from Weyburn, Estevan and area converged on the South East Cornerstone Public School Division office on Wednesday afternoon.

The natural outdoor classroom has been a big addition to St. Mary’s School in Estevan, and it continues to grow.

Two southeast dealers donated generators to the Southeast Saskatchewan Search and Rescue (SESK SAR) organization. Nelson Motors and Equipment, which has a dealership in Estevan but is based in Avonlea, donated two generators.

The TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course has introduced a new family loop golf course in an effort to get more young people playing the sport.

Shoppers have been given another reason to flock to local stores on June 19. It will be the inaugural Shop Estevan Day.

Effective 8 a.m. on June 17, the Saskatchewan Health Authority has accelerated access to second doses of COVID-19 vaccine to anyone who is 45 years and older or who received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on or before May 1.
