The Town of Midale will not have to turn off its water supply Monday night. In a Facebook post Monday morning, the town said that due to the dangerously low levels of water in the reservoir, the town would be shutting the water off from 10 p.m.

SaskPower crews have been dispatched to a power outage west of Estevan. In a tweet sent at 5 p.m., SaskPower said the crews are determining the cause and repair time for the outage.

Estevan firefighters responded to a report of a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm on May 17. The alarm went off in north-central Estevan. The lone resident safely evacuated the building prior to fire crews’ arrival.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in South East Zone 4 dropped once again. According to the May 17 COVID-19 update, there were 178 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, with nine in the South East region.

A special weather statement has been issued for the southeast region. Environment Canada issued the statement at 10:38 a.m. Monday. It notes that the first warm spell of the season will encompass most of Saskatchewan Monday and Tuesday.

The Estevan Motor Speedway has delayed its first regular program of the season.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in South East Zone 4 dropped once again. According to the May 16 COVID update, there were 167 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, with 14 in the South East region.

For the second time this month, a walk-in COVID-19 immunization clinic was held in Estevan. The clinic, which happened at the Estevan Church of God, started at 10 a.m. May 16 and continued until 4 p.m.
