The Souris Valley Museum used its Family Day on Saturday to launch a new exhibit celebrating sports in Estevan and elsewhere. The History of Sports has a variety of memorabilia on display, with an emphasis on local sports.

Local music fans were treated to an entertaining evening Thursday at the Souris Valley Theatre’s Frehlick Hall, courtesy of acclaimed Saskatchewan country music singer Codie Prevost.

Singing competitions are back in a big way for the Estevan Fair. A night after the Estevan Sings Junior contest was on the stage, teens and adults had their opportunity to perform Tuesday night during Estevan Sings.

Young rocker Jesse Gibson won the resurrected Estevan Sings Junior competition on Monday. For his final performance he chose to sing Five Finger Death Punch’s version of House of Rising Sun.

The Souris Valley Museum offered a fun afternoon during its Family Day on Saturday afternoon. Families dropped by so that young people could enjoy games, crafts and other activities. Sports were offered outdoors to the west of the museum’s building.

The Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) held its annual five-kilometre poker run Saturday morning at Woodlawn Regional Park. Participants gathered at the Woodlawn Regional Park, near the dog park, and walked and ran the route through the park.

The Estevan Police Service and Estevan Public Library invite citizens to join them for a bike rodeo and summer reading kick-off. The event, named Bikes and Books, will take place on June 22 at the Power Dodge Curling Centre.
