The Estevan and District Music Festival will have three concerts for its festival highlights and awards this year. Two programs will happen on April 2. The first will be for bands and instrumentalists at 1 p.m. at the Estevan Comprehensive School.

Estevan Comprehensive School’s cafetorium swelled with the sounds of the Regina Symphony Orchestra’s (RSO) music last Sunday.

The Weyburn Concert Series will host the “Fortunate Ones” in concert at the Cugnet Centre on Tuesday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m.

The Middle Coast, a Winnipeg-based band, performed a high-energy concert at the Prince of Wales Complex auditorium on March 3.

This year’s edition of the Estevan and District Music Festival opened on Sunday afternoon with piano performances at Trinity Lutheran Church. The piano portion of the festival will continue until March 25.

Hal Schrenk, who grew up in Assiniboia and now lives in Saskatoon, has been nominated for two Saskatchewan Country Music Association awards.

Gordon Gerrard, conductor for the Regina Symphony Orchestra’s (RSO) Music on the Road tour, is excited to come to Estevan, the final location for the symphony’s tour of southern Saskatchewan.

The Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) is hosting an art exhibit that functions as much as a documentary of life in communities like Estevan as an artistic project.

Queen Elizabeth School will be one of 38 Saskatchewan schools to host “Mistatim”, a Red Sky performance about the taming of a wild horse and the truest of friendships.

Chad Armstrong has sung the national anthems prior to NHL games, at Madison Square Garden in New York City and at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay.
