Another of Carlyle’s big events for the year has been scrubbed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Everyone is invited to share their talents at the 2020 Communithon, to be held on Friday, Oct. 23, at the Legion Hall. All ages and types of acts are encouraged to participate. Performances can be live for solos or groups of up to five people.

Weyburn singer Karissa Hoffart’s album, “Life of Mine”, has started to get traction with three singles already released to country radio, with the general release of the album set for Oct. 17.

A new board game was launched in August to celebrate Estevan. Estevan-Opoly, created by Outset Media, is a game that gives players a chance to own some of the most famous landmarks in the community.

A confessed book lover, Morgan Jones, asked for a book nook library for her birthday, and her fiancé built her one. She now has “Dot’s Book Nook” in front of their home at 719 Fourth Street South, named after her little wiener dog, Dot.

The Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) invited all residents to enjoy the new Stitching Stories Exhibit now open at Government House.

Writer uses lockdown to help write second book

“This song (Paper Wings) is about taking a chance on love, even though you might get burned,” the band said of the track’s meaning, begging the question: “Is the fire going to be uplifting? As in a spark? Or will it be devastating, like a housefire?”

The Estevan Recreational Dance Club will have a recital for its members, although it won’t be what they’ve had in the past.

One of Estevan’s longest-standing and most iconic businesses is looking forward to opening once again. The Orpheum Theatre has been closed since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
