One new case of COVID-19 diagnosed in the southeast

There is one new case of COVID-19 in southeast Saskatchewan, according to Monday’s provincial update. The new case is located in Zone 4, which includes Estevan.

There is one new case of COVID-19 in southeast Saskatchewan, according to Monday’s provincial update.

The new case is located in Zone 4, which includes Estevan. The zone extends from Torquay to the Manitoba border along Highway 18, from Stoughton to the Manitoba border along Highway 13. This zone’s southern boundary is the Canada-U.S. border, and Zone 4’s territory moves to north of Highway 13.

Zone 4 has more than 31,000 residents.

There are now four active cases in Zone 4, and five active cases in the southeast region as a whole. The other active case is in Southeast Zone 2, which is north of Zone 4.

A total of 24 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since mid-March.

There are nine new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, bringing the total to 1,968 reported cases. In addition to the southeast case, there are five new cases in the central east, and individual cases in the Saskatoon, Regina and south central regions.

Of the 1,968 reported cases, 143, or 7.3 per cent, are considered active. 

Nineteen more people have recovered, bringing Saskatchewan’s total to 1,801 recoveries, or 91.5 per cent of those diagnosed.

One person is in hospital in intensive care in Regina.

A total of 2,612 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan on Sunday. More than 200,000 tests have now been performed in the province since March.
