MOOSE JAW — The City of Moose Jaw is advising residents that phase 9 of the infrastructure renewal program — formerly, the cast iron water main replacement program — continues in two separate, high-volume locations in the city.

Contractors continue to keep Main Street from Manitoba Street to High Street closed to traffic; however, pedestrians are still able to access area businesses by sidewalk. The Manitoba and High Street intersections remain open to traffic and paid parking stalls are open on neighbouring streets and throughout the downtown core.

Work continues on Coteau Street Southwest from 11th Avenue Southwest to 12th Avenue Southwest, while 10th Avenue Southwest to 12th Avenue Southwest on Coteau Street is closed to traffic, with the 10th and 12th Avenue intersections remaining open.

Additionally, the project on the 500-800 blocks of Fairford Street West is complete as crews have finished road restoration and the roadway has reopened to traffic.

Meanwhile, 16th Avenue Northwest from Caribou Street to Stadacona Street surface work continues and is expected to last approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that all area businesses remain open during construction and access will be available via sidewalks and temporary walkways. Also, all work in these four locations is dependent on favourable weather conditions.

Drivers are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and exercise caution in construction zones to keep everyone safe, as city hall does not want any more #NotoriouslyClose calls.

The city will continue to issue weekly updates as the program progresses. For a full list of the 2024 water main replacement locations, along with full details on the program, visit Moosejaw.ca/watermainreplacement/
