Two more cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the southeast

There have been two more cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the southeast region. Both cases have been diagnosed in southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.

There have been two more cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the southeast region.

Both cases have been diagnosed in southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan. The zone spans from Torquay to the Manitoba border along Highway 18, from Stoughton to the Manitoba border along Highway 13. This zone’s southern boundary is the Canada-U.S. border, and Zone 4’s territory moves to north of Highway 13.

There have been 26 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the southeast region in the last seven months. Seven cases in the region are considered active. Six of the active cases in the southeast are from Zone 4.

There are 16 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Oct. 6, bringing the total to 1,984 reported cases. In addition to the two new cases in the southeast, there are six cases in the Saskatoon region, three in the central east, two in the Regina region, and single cases in the far northwest and north central.

One new case has a pending residence location.

Of the 1,984 reported cases, 139, or seven per cent, are considered active. 

Twenty more people have recovered, bringing the provincial total to 1,821 recoveries, or 91.8 per cent of those diagnosed.

Two people are in hospital. One person is receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon. One person is in intensive care in Regina.

A total of 1,597 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan on Monday.
