News and notes from the May 22 regular meeting of Estevan city council

Estevan provincial court was busy this past Monday and Thursday, dealing with several prisoners, and leaving many on remand.

The recent whirlwind visit by His Royal Highness, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, along with his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, touched many lives in this province, including that of a number of Weyburn residents.

During the week of May 21-27, Weyburn Police members dealt with 108 occurrences. Many of them were alcohol related; police members were also called to several false alarms and disturbances. At approximately 12:55 a.m.

The halls of the Weyburn Comprehensive are filled with residents participating in the annual MS Walk on Sunday. Due to rainy weather, the annual MS Walk was held indoors this year.

The second time proved to be a charm for Tiana Whitman at the Skills Canada competition.

The Estevan Police Service (EPS) is requesting the public's help in locating a missing person. Gordon B. Tweddle, 58, was reported missing the evening of May 24. The last time Tweddle was seen was May 8, 2012.

The students and staff at Westview School threw their hats in the ring in the fight against cancer Friday. The school hosted the mini Relay for Life which is an annual event held at a different Estevan school each year.

There are many marches that draw attention and raise funds for a number of different causes, but Estevan's MS Walk is of particular importance to Dave Seipp.
