Police handle a number of domestic disputes over the holidays

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the two-week period of December 19 to January 3: Over the reporting period the police dealt with 154 calls for service, including attending two residential and two commercial alarms.

The Lomond 4-H Beef Club held their monthly meeting at Oungre Park on December 5. The meeting began with the 4-H pledge and the members and parents discussing the following new business: 1) Weigh day for our steers. 2) Weight guess for our steers.

Public board section also upset with government's ad hoc decision

December traffic blitz a success

A pre-Christmas traffic blitz proved to be a success for police agencies across Saskatchewan and here in Estevan. Twenty-five people were charged with impaired driving during a province-wide traffic blitz in mid-December.

Estevan's population drops

After climbing close to the 13,000 mark in 2010, Estevan's population dipped slightly in 2011, according to provincial government numbers. The covered population statistics were released in late December by the Ministry of Health.
