The Weyburn Wild went undefeated in the U12B Girls Softball Provincials held in Balgonie over the weekend. The Wild started the tourney off with a 21-4 win against the Cupar Canucks.

A team competing out of Estevan Bowl has won a national championship. Levi Rosenbaum, Johnny Eberle, Craig Yoner and Taylor Kickley won the Bowl Canada Cup tournament that was held in Mississauga, Ont., in the first weekend of July.

The Estevan Golden Eels swim club was the undisputed class of their home meet Saturday at the RM of Estevan Aquatic Centre. Estevan finished first with 772 points, more than double second place Regina, who had 295 points.

The Estevan Golden Eels Swim Club’s annual home meet is underway at the RM of Estevan Aquatic Centre inside the Estevan Leisure Centre. Swimmers from clubs southern Saskatchewan are in Estevan for the competition.

The Weyburn Bantam Thrashers joined their Highway 39 rivals, the Estevan Voltz, to make a combined team and represent southeast Saskatchewan in provincials this past weekend.

The Weyburn Beavers will not be taking the field Friday nighit, as they did here recently against Edmonton, due to a heavy downpour of rain late in the afternoon. Weather permitting, the game for Saturday evening will still take place at 7:05 p.m.

The Estevan TS&M peewee AAA Brewers finished their regular season in fine form, winning five of six games that they played from Saturday to Tuesday.

The Estevan Power Dodge bantam Voltz had a memorable weekend at the provincial tournament in Saskatoon, teaming up with the Weyburn Threshers to win the bronze medal – the first for an Estevan team at provincials.

Local youth football players had the opportunity to learn from one of the most accomplished receivers in the CFL during a clinic hosted by Penta Completions Estevan Minor Football Thursday afternoon at the Woodlawn Athletic Field.

Estevan’s Jace Carlisle has won the Saskatchewan Golf Association’s junior men’s provincial title.
