Several new Estevan junior football team players gathered at the field south of the Estevan Comprehensive School Sunday afternoon for their first practices. Ethan Veroba was one of the first to register and start practicing.

Having previously lost to the Regina Dodgers on Tuesday, the Weyburn Iron Pigs pushed their best of three playoff series with the Dodgers to game three after beating them 11-7 at Tom Laing Park on Thursday.

The Southeast A’s U15 AAA baseball team won one of three games that they played at provincials in Saskatoon during the Saskatchewan Day long weekend. The A’s opened the tournament with a 7-1 loss to the Sask.

The Moose Mountain Marlins are the provincial baseball champions in the under-13 (U13) Tier 5 division. Provincials were held in Moosomin from July 26-28, with eight teams entered.

Throughout this past week, the Weyburn Artistic Swimming Club had a camp for the Provincial Stream Competitive athletes.

The Carnduff Astros came home from the recent provincial under-11 (U11) Tier 5 tournament in Mossbank with some extra hardware, after winning the provincial championship.

The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, Battleford, will be celebrating the 35 th Annual Induction, Saturday, August 17, 2019, in Battleford. We are proud to announce that Ferguson “FERGIE” Jenkins will be our special guest speaker.

Zach Olson, from Weyburn, has been playing for Team Saskatchewan, the U16 provincial basketball team, this season. The team had training sessions in Regina and Saskatoon on the weekends throughout June/July.

Noah Kopec from the Weyburn AAA 13U Element Beavers team, made the final cut to play with the Sask Selects in the U13 National Championship in Quebec later this month.

The Weyburn Beavers played their final regular season game at home Tuesday night against the Melville Millionaires. No matter the outcome of the game, the Beavers were going to playoffs and the Millionaires were not, so there wasn’t much on the line.
