Several members of the Estevan Sharks Water Polo team will be hitting the outdoor pools for in California next week as part of the Sailor Cup invitational.

Good running times, good track conditions and good fellowship led to a very good time Saturday at the Coal Country Run at Woodlawn Regional Park.

Another huge weekend for Estevan’s lacrosse teams had them winning a lot of games in a short time not too far away from home.

The Wheatland Wild 2011 team participated in the North American Hockey Classic in Winnipeg from April 26-29.

Nice weather, a course that was in good shape and good spirits meant another successful year for the Coal Country Run. The run started at 10 a.m. and went either 5km, 10km or the kids mini mile.

Local archers got a 3D challenge last weekend at the range just south of the city. The Estevan Archery Club hosted a 3D archery event, which provides a bit of a different target than a typical sheet of paper.

One southeast team is headed to Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association badminton provincials this weekend. The Oxbow girls doubles team of Kristin Mayer and Emily Lesy qualified from regionals in Whitewood last weekend.

Some southeast teams did very well at the 17U Women, 18U Women and 17U Men’s volleyball provincials last weekend.

While it may not quite be the season for severe storms in the Estevan area, teams in the pee wee AAA division of Baseball Regina should be advised of a Tornado warning.

After months of provincial competition, the 2018 14U Western National Championship played this weekend in Edmonton with eight boys and eight girls’ teams competing against one another for the title of Western National Champion.
