The Estevan Westmoreland Bruins put the boots to the Moose Jaw Warriors in their last regular season game in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League’s pee wee AA league, winning 9-3 in the Friendly City.

Unlike 80s band Boy Meets Girl, the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins weren’t waiting for a star to fall, they went out and made it happen at Affinity Place Saturday.

The Apex Bruins had a little bit of a bump in the road late in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League’s midget AA division’s regular season but that was wiped away in their 7-1 win Friday night against the Notre Dame Argos.

Team Southeast gathered in Weyburn on Sunday, Feb. 11, to participate in a pep rally at McKenna Hall. Athletes were able to meet the other participants and celebrate the opportunity to go to the Saskatchewan Winter Games this year.

It’s playoff time in the Big Six Hockey League, with the top eight teams battling it out to see who’s the best in the post-season. The Carnduff Red Devils were the top team in the regular season, and are taking on the eighth place Carlyle Cougars.

The Saskitas travelled to Winnipeg this past weekend for another round of play in the 14U National Championship League division.
