Members of the Estevan Coaler Rollers junior roller derby team travelled to Brandon on Saturday to play a couple of games. The Level 3 skaters played first and won their game 232-180 over the Manitoba Misfits.

The Estevan KPC mosquito AAA Sluggers won one of four games they played at home during the weekend.

The Estevan TS&M peewee AAA Tornadoes dropped a 12-11 decision to the Melville Millionaires on Saturday afternoon at Cactus Park. “Our pitchers were throwing well and our pitchers are throwing strikes,” said coach Ryan Siever.

A number of local athletes competed at the district track meet, hosted by the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association at the Weyburn Comp on Wednesday.

Local athletes took part in competitions on Wednesday, May 24, to see if they could be top two in their Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association Track and Field meet and advance to Provincials in Saskatoon. Athletes will compete June 2-3.

The third annual Justinsane Barbie Car Races wrapped up on May 7 raising over $3,000. This year, the funds were being collected for the Mossbank Recreation complex. The event was hosted by Ardill Hotel at its new location at Ardill Hill.

Weyburn Volleyball Club’s 15U Rush had a successful year, which coalesced with an impressive finish of 13 th place out of 96 teams at West Nationals held in Regina from May 13 – 15.

The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has announced the selection of the Woodard family of Colgate, to be inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 19, in Battleford.

Three members of the Estevan Sharks water polo program joined Team Saskatchewan entries at water polo nationals in Calgary from May 26 to 28.

Four local lacrosse teams were busy during the weekend, thanks to games that were held at Affinity Place.
