The regional track meet for southeast athletes was held at the Weyburn Comp, where local students competed to advance to the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association districts. The districts will be held today, May 24, at the Weyburn Comp track.

Gravelbourg now has new dugouts for its south ball diamonds due to donations from the Gravelbourg Lions Club and the Town of Gravelbourg. More upgrading is on the way.

The first tournament for the new Southside Slammers U16 female fastpitch team was a good one. The Slammers took second at the Regina Early Bird Tournament on May 13 and 14.

Estevan Comprehensive School (ECS) Elecs football team head coach Mark Schott was impressed with the speed and athleticism of the players who showed up for the club’s spring camp last week.

The Southeast Performance Pump Twins picked up a win and two losses in their first three home games of the season. The Twins won their home opener on May 10 in an 11-0 rout over the Regina White Sox at Tom Laing Field in Weyburn.

The 10th annual Coal Country Run was the biggest yet, as a total of 180 entrants competed in the event at Woodlawn Regional Park on Saturday.
